Antibody Phage Display Library Construction

An antibody phage display library is a laboratory technique used to study protein-protein, protein-peptide, and protein-DNA interactions. It uses bacteriophages (viruses that infect bacteria) to connect proteins with the genetic information that encodes them. In this technique, a gene encoding a protein of interest is inserted into a phage coat protein gene, causing the phage to “display” the protein on its outside while containing the gene for the protein on its inside, resulting in a connection between genotype and phenotype.

An antibody phage display library is a collection of bacteriophages that display a large number of different antibody fragments on their surface. Phage display or bio-panning allows for the selection of specific antibodies from a large pool of candidates. Oak Biosciences offer a wide range of formats (scFv, Fab, VHH and affibody) to fit a variety of applications, including non-immune libraries, such as naive antibody phage library or synthetic antibody phage libraries, and immune antibody libraries from immunized animals or patients. Our naive and synthetic libraries generally contain 1 billion to 1 trillion independent clones, while our immune libraries contain at least 5 – 100 billion independent clones. For finding the high specific and affinity clones, you could use our antibody phage display panning service further to meet your need.
